TheWB及UPN（后来这两家合并成现在的CW）曾播出3季科幻青春剧《罗斯威尔Roswell》，而本年度CW表示要开发该剧的重启版。《罗斯威尔》新版跟旧版一样，是根据MelindaMetz所著的《RoswellHigh》小说系列来改编，CarinaAdlyMacKenzie负责为项目执笔；新版《罗斯威尔》讲述生物医学研究人员的女主LizOrtecho（JeanineMason饰演）在不情愿下回到家乡Roswell，她发现以前的迷恋对象已经成了警官，而且他还是个外星人，靠着自身能力一直隐瞒着真正身份。
